Through an exploration of the forgotten corners of Dartmoor and wild places within the psyche, my work arises from the mysterious layers underneath functional perceived reality.
I use walking meditations, movement, stillness, breath work and shamanic awareness exercises as part of my practice. My attempt is to then capture something of that experience through form and colour within the practice of painting. Each work communicates something of my relationship with landscape, spirit and sensory perception.
My training includes: a degree in Fine Art (BA Hons) from Winchester School of Art; Non-Stylised and Environmental Movement with Helen Poynor and Shamanic work with Chis Luttichau (Northern Drum Shamanic Centre). I have also spent many years working with martial arts and shiatsu which have helped to inform and expand my awareness in different ways.
